One year I was surprised with an ice cream cake! Yum!! :) Then again... any cake is yummy!
ReplyDeleteI had a pink care bear cake with a paper rainbow that my parents made, but the best bit about birthdays was the decorated chair at the dining table, made you feel extra special sitting on it at breakfast

ReplyDeleteThere is an absolutely amazing bakery in Calgary called Crave Cupcakes. They make cakes as well, so one year I was surprised with a vanilla cake with lemon-lime icing (my favourite!!). I love them so much, my little girl is getting her first cake and cupcakes from the same place. A total splurge, but the memories will be worth it for her 1st birthday.
ReplyDeleteMy coworkers got me a spectacular cake from a bakery in Baltimore. It was white cake with whipped icing and the freshest strawberries in between the layers, and then sprinkled with chocolate curls. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
